Suffering Under Leadership

Currently, I'm slaving through tons of information and scholarly work on leadership for an academic assignment. It is tiresome and overwhelming, but I've managed to find a bit of hope. It's true that we are in precarious times. Leadership is going wrong in all sorts of corners of the world, Zimbabwe, U.S.A, and back home in SA - from endless smear-campaigns, to outright dictatorships and also the paralysing effect of absence. However, there is a growing hunger for justice, morality, ethics and even spirituality developing in the marketplace of ideas with a plethora of definitions ranging from transformational leadership, servant leadership and authentic leadership getting plenty of attention. Is the world saying "we expect more"? More disconcerting could be reflecting on whether I am willing to live up to these calls.
